“A bird doesn’t sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song.” ~Lou Holtz
Misty morn
Harvest moon
“In the days before electric lights, farmers depended on bright moonlight to extend the workday beyond sunset. It was the only way they could gather their ripening crops in time for market. The full moon closest to the autumnal equinox became the Harvest Moon, and it was always a welcome sight.” ~Dr. Tony Phillips
The Swing
Swinging was one of my favorite outdoor activities when I was young. I had a rope swing (a little less fancy than this one) attached to a large oak tree. I remember feeling like I couldn’t go high enough. Sweet summertime memories!
“How do you like to go up in a swing,
Up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing
Ever a child can do!”
~Robert Louis Stevenson
