During these hot and humid days of summer, while other critters are hidden away in shady, cooler places, dragonflies seem to be out in good number, enjoying the sun.

“When the heat of the summer
Made drowsy the land,
A dragon-fly came
And sat on my hand.”
~Eleanor Farjeon
I wouldn’t want to be a bug near a Dragonfly!
Good point. Me either. 🙂
Great captures, Rebecca!
Thanks, Eliza!
They are so delicate, perched or resting and enjoying the sun which brings out their beautiful coloring.
They are quite graceful and stunning. Always fun to see.
I actually saw a few yesterday on a marsh walk, but they were too fast for me to get any shots.
👏👏👏, when all else fails for a photo, find the Dragonfly.
They were about all that I could find on that hot day. 🙂
Beautiful dragons.
Thanks, Timothy.
They are so divinely created. Their transparent wings are so fragile and beautiful, along with the variety of colors they’re dressed in. God is the Master Artist. Your photos are amazing.
Well said and so true. Thanks, Kathy!
