Spatterdock (Yellow Pond Lily)

Spatterdock can be found growing around parts of the lake, providing a habitat for a variety of creatures and serving as nourishment for others.

Below is a dragonfly laying eggs on one of the leaves.

A Flying Jewel

The vision of a butterfly effortlessly soaring through the air and gently landing on a flower or leaf is captivating. It can revive the sensation of being a child once more and the excitement of the pursuit.

“Watch with fascination and joy as a jeweled treasure glides by and gently touches your soul.” ~K. D’Angelo

Finding Feathers

Occasionally I come upon a beautiful bird feather on the ground while we’re out walking.  I enjoy seeing the different colors and patterns that each one has.  It is also a clue to what types of birds are in the area.

“Worry is an old man with bended head, carrying a load of feathers which he thinks are lead.” ~Corrie Ten Boom
