Meadowlarks are not a bird that I normally see, so I was excited to spot several out in a field near the Mississippi River. They were busily gathering grass seeds and grain. Their pop of yellow color livened up an otherwise dull landscape.

God’s handiwork well defined❤️
Yes, indeed! 🙂
Wonderful captures, Rebecca. I don’t see these birds in my area even though they are listed here. Our habitat must not be right for them.
They are winter residents here and leave in early May. These were along the Mississippi levee.
Cute Meadowlarks.
Thanks, Timothy.
Wonderful photos!
Thanks, Cindy!
That bright yellow sure gets your attention doesn’t it. Thank you for showing us a Meadowlark Rebecca. I Googled and we have them in Michigan, but I’ve never seen one.
I think they like to keep to themselves and keep their distance.
Good catch. Not many people ever see these birds, me included, been years. Very pretty.
Great find, Rebecca!
Thanks, Ellen!
