My nature walks this week yielded sightings of some of my favorite butterflies. It was hard not to be enchanted by their gracefulness and delicate beauty.

They are all so pretty and delicate Rebecca – you captured them beautifully. I have never seen a Zebra Swallowtail – I always click on your photos to see a caption or name, so I learned of a new butterfly today. That’s a nice quotation by Dolly Parton and very timely due to recently losing her husband.
Thanks, Linda. I always get very excited when I see a Zebra Swallowtail flying around. I usually see them at the wildlife refuge but have actually seen one recently on our country road.
I don’t blame you Rebecca – how beautiful and unique looking! I have seen very few butterflies this year.
There doesn’t seem to be near as many as there use to be.
I hate that too. We’ve had so many gusty wind days, I’m wondering if that is creating problems for them … it seems like these 25 mph gusty wind days are becoming the norm.
