One morning last week, a beautiful swallowtail was mud-puddling in our back yard. I couldn’t help but grab the camera and take a few shots. 🙂

These are so pretty! I think this is a Spicebush Swallowtail. The Black Swallowtail has a yellow pattern on the black background.

It was so busy enjoying the moist ground that it didn’t seem to mind my presence at all. It was very neat to be able to observe it so closely.
