I saw this whimsical Blue-Eyed Grass growing along the banks of the Hatchie River. Though it has grass-like foliage, it is actually a member of the Iris family. When each flower finishes blooming, it leaves a small round seed pod which resembles a tear.
“The method of nature: who could ever analyze it?” ~Ralph Waldo Emerson
What a beautiful flower
It’s very dainty. 🙂
I like your description of the tear left behind!
Our blue-eyed grass is still in the bud stage, with a tiny trace of blue peeking out. Thanks for sharing what I hope to spot in the coming days. 🙂
They are beautiful little flowers. I hope you get some good shots when yours are in full bloom.
