It’s a Northern cardinal. The female isn’t the bright red color that the male cardinal is.

I love those female Northern cardinals just as much as the males. They do have a bit of both sweetness and steeliness, don’t they?

And they always say the female cardinal’s plumage is blah … these ladies are beautiful. P.S. – I love the head-tilt photo.
When the sun hits them just right, the beautiful colors in the female do seem to pop out.
