In autumn, the landscape is dotted with the vibrant golden-yellow blooms of goldenrod, a wildflower that grows in fields and along roadways. One insect that is commonly attracted to goldenrod is the goldenrod soldier beetle, or Pennsylvania leatherwing. Adult soldier beetles feed on the pollen and nectar, and forage along the flowers for insect eggs and aphids. The flowers also serve as a place for them to meet and mate.

That goldenrod is so vibrant Rebecca – speaking of yellow, I saw a yellow dandelion the other day. How it still exists after two hard freezes and a Summertime of heat amazes me.
They are such resilient little plants!
you obviously are not allergic to Golden Rod like many Rebecca!
Autumn is my favourite season! Love the quote!
From what I’ve read, goldenrod gets blamed for allergies, when it is really ragweed, which blooms at the same time, that is to blame. But yes, we suffer from allergies spring, summer and autumn here. I’ve found that eating local honey helps me quite a bit. I agree, autumn is my favorite season also.
well thats interesting Rebecca,& what kind of honey is it?
Honey produced locally. Most studies that I have read on the internet say it doesn’t help, but it does seem to lessen the symptoms to me (if only in my mind). 🙂 https://www.webmd.com/allergies/features/does-honey-help-prevent-allergies#1
maybe placebo?
Hey … if it helps … 🙂
