I spotted this squirrel as she finished toting a corncob from an adjacent cornfield to a nearby maple tree in our neighbor’s yard. She placed it on the ground and pulled it backwards to fit between the roots of the trunk. There, in her safe and comfortable spot she sat, enjoying her delicious prize, one kernel at a time.

I love how squirrels spend their time. They’re always so busy. Searching for food or trying to hide it. We have a lots of them around our house because of a huge black walnut tree in our front yard.
Squirrels can be quite entertaining to watch. I’m sure they enjoy your walnut tree! It’s amazing that they can crack open such a tough nut.
Corn on the cob, a summer treat!
She looked awful proud of her find and seemed to enjoy every kernel.
She is really enjoying that corn on the cob and is not only cute, but she is smarter than humans that slather butter and douse it with salt to enjoy it. 🙂
You’re right, Linda. She likes it fresh from the field with no additives. Looks like food will be plentiful for the squirrels until harvest time.
She’s smart Rebecca and will be enjoying lots of treats then. There is nothing like a fresh ear of corn in the Summertime.
Maybe she is offering us a lesson in mindful eating.
She does eat healthy with her diet of vegetables and nuts. 🙂
And she chews each kernel of her corn! I need to work on that! 🙂
Gotta love squirrels! Cute pics!
They can be quite entertaining. Thanks!
