Beginning Again

After the drab of winter, there’s something refreshing and renewing about all the beautiful shades of green in the spring.

“For still there are so many things that I have never seen: in every wood in every spring there is a different green.” – J. R. R. Tolkien

  1. I agree with that quote Rebecca. All the leaves unfurling and the grass, even the pine needles look so colorful and perfect now before wind, drought and weather miseries make them look dry and parched. The park bench in the woods looks very welcoming to sit for a while.

      • I’ve been hearing about the mosquito population this year due to the warm Winter. That and ticks. But the reason they mentioned mosquitos was that in one of our warm spells we had for a single in March, someone reported mosquitoes were out and biting. It’s a shame as you wait so long to get out and just sit and take in the sights.

  2. Such beautiful signs of spring. We are sitting under a foot of snow after a winter of warmer than normal temps. God knows we need moisture, so He provides it in this way.

    • I’m glad you’re getting precipitation. I noticed that some of our ponds and lakes are way down. Maybe your snow will help keep the Mississippi River flowing.

      • I hope so too. Up until this latest storm we were considered at drought status. I love that it’s snow and not rain. Less messy.
