A spider lives inside my head
Who weaves a strange and wondrous web
Of silken threads and silver strings
To catch all sorts of flying things,
Like crumbs of thoughts and bits of smiles
And specks of dried-up tears,
And dust of dreams that catch and cling
For years and years and years β¦
~Shel Silverstein
Great collection of spiders.
Thanks, Timothy!
Amazing!
Thanks, Cindy!
we both must have been on the same channel Rebecca, I posted a video with a spiders web tonight as well!
I noticed that. π It’s a spidery time of the year.
I think It was our combined Spidy sense!
Such intricate and beautiful designs they make. You have captured them perfectly.
Thanks, Kathy. It’s always fun to actually find a spider hiding in the web. Each spider seems to have its own unique design.
Isn’t it fascinating that spider webs can be different designs? The classic orb web, but then there are ones that are like a bowl shape and very dense! Love the Shel Silverstein poem — I’m inspired to read my poetry book again!
Spiders are pretty amazing in their weaves. I really liked this poem too. I enjoy his style of writing.
I find spiders fascinating and are most welcome in my garden, but I’d rather one not climb on me, thank you! π
I couldn’t agree more! As long as they are outside, I leave them alone, especially since they trap a lot of mosquitoes.
Perfect timing for this post as Halloween nears – what a nice collection you have here Rebecca. Between the intricate webs and how they wrap up and capture their prey, you have to be amazed at spiders (even if they give you the heebie jeebies when you come across them). I like the Shel Silverstein poem as well; as usual, it’s a perfect fit for your photos.
Thanks, Linda. Yes, it’s hard not to admire the webs that they design and build. They are very hard workers, but I guess their survival depends on it. However, I only admire them from afar. If they get too close, my admiration ends. π
I think we are soulmates when it comes to spiders Rebecca. π
