A Distant Rainstorm

A recent rainstorm at sunset, crowned with a dazzling rainbow.

With His Word He formed the mountains,
Made the skies and filled the sea.
Gave the land its wonderous beauty
Gave life’s breath to you and me.
He was there before the song was sung,
He still abides through its refrain,
And when the song gives way to silence
Still the Word of God remains.

  1. What a gorgeous sky, intense-looking clouds and a rainbow to boot – you captured it all Rebecca. You are blessed to be able to see such beautiful sunsets without the obstructions of electrical wires and house tops. I worry about venturing out after dark anymore as crime is more rampant these days, so I’ll vicariously enjoy yours. That is a beautiful poem – God’s creation spans the universe and we may think we are pretty smart and high tech, but we are no match at all for this handiwork.

    • Sorry, for some reason, I’m just now seeing this. Yes, we are lucky to have such a great view of the sunset and a safe place to walk. I like to walk our dog in the evening just so we can see the beauty at the end of each day. 🙂

      • You are lucky to see such sights Rebecca. I worry about going out at night and the clear view for me would be down at the Detroit River, about three miles from my house, but I wouldn’t go alone … guess I need a dog too. 🙂
