The butterflies have been very busy the past couple of weeks. It’s been fun to watch as they enjoy the wildflowers and dance and flutter in the afternoon sun.

I took a short video of three of these beauties.

One of the highlights of Summer is butterflies and they remind us of the beauty of nature. Your still photos are beautiful Rebecca and there were a few new butterflies to me. The video of the three settling down to get nectar or fluttering their wings wildly tells me we cannot get enough of these beautiful creatures and there are never enough months to enjoy them.
I couldn’t agree more. In only a few weeks, I will miss the fluttering of the butterflies and the sound of the cicadas. Thanks, Linda.
Yes, all those Summertime sights and sounds that we dream about all Winter. Sigh.
Beautiful. We haven’t had many butterflies this year. It’s been so dry that there’s not a lot for them to eat.
Thanks, Timothy. This has been one of the driest summers that I remember in a long time. Fortunately, we had a very wet spring which I think has helped.
Such a lovely variety of colorful butterflies! Wish we had that many here in the PNW!
Thanks! Yesterday on my country road walk, I saw a good number flittering about in the tall grasses up and down the road. They seemed to be relishing in the final days of summer.
I love all your butterflies, esp. the pipevine, which I’ve never seen here. This year at least I’ve seen more monarchs than last year, where I only saw one or two. Guess they are having a good summer, the weather has been warm and dry, which they prefer.
Thanks, Eliza. The weather has been very warm and dry here so they should be in butterfly heaven 🙂
That quote from Chidiac really resonates with me – life itself is indeed a miracle!
Yes it is! Thanks, Sam.
