I spotted this brown thrasher along an embankment beside the road. He was bobbing up and down between busy spurts of churning leaves and digging dirt. My presence didn’t seem to phase him at all — as finding food was obviously of top priority.

Beautiful bird! I’ve never seen one here.
We usually see them more often in the summer than in the winter.
I haven’t seen “our” Brown Thrashers in a while. Hope they’re finding something good to eat, wherever they are. Thanks for sharing yours.
