The sky was a little overcast, but the temperature was perfect for a hike in the Reelfoot Wildlife Refuge. Along the way, signs of spring were intermingled with the leaves of the past autumn. The sound of birds chirping and an owl hooting could be heard in the distance. As we passed a stranger on the path, his greeting summed up my feelings perfectly — “It doesn’t get much better than this!” No, it certainly doesn’t. 🙂

Good old javascript — the stuff that makes the web go round. That is very wet and swampy compared to our neck of the woods. Beautiful photos.
It is wetter in the spring with all the rain. Not such a good place to be during the summer when the mosquitoes are active. That’s why I like to go when it’s cooler.
Lovely photos. You’re getting better every day.
Thank you!
Beautiful pictures! The cardinal really stands out.
Looks like a excellent day to get out Rebecca! Love that saying too I might add! Too bad it’s “unknown”
The quote is a good one. I found a source that credits it to John Muir. That sounds very likely to me. I don’t know why so many sources say “unknown”.
It does sound like him.He would of been a interesting fellow to chat with around a camp fire.
I love a hike with lots to see like this.
