Wildflowers along the levee

The landscape along the Mississippi levee was ablaze with the beautiful, vibrant colors of a variety of wildflowers this past weekend.  No matter which direction you looked, the scenery was breathtaking.

  1. We still have snow in the woods. It will be lovely to have buttercups in bloom! We do have yellow Coltsfoot (Tussilago farfara) in our south-facing ditches!

  2. How pretty Rebecca – our only wildflowers are our blooming dandelions and they are out in full force now. That’s a delightful sight to see to welcome Spring. P.S. – Your quote is right on the mark too.

      • I wonder if the weather has contributed to this Rebecca, like all the wildflowers in California that were evident in March after that state has have been deluged with rain/floods? The news said they had not had such beautiful flowers, even poppies, for decades due to the long drought.
