The landscape along the Mississippi levee was ablaze with the beautiful, vibrant colors of a variety of wildflowers this past weekend. No matter which direction you looked, the scenery was breathtaking.

We still have snow in the woods. It will be lovely to have buttercups in bloom! We do have yellow Coltsfoot (Tussilago farfara) in our south-facing ditches!
Sounds like spring is creeping your way. I’m sure it won’t be long before those buttercups are in bloom.
The days rush onward! So much to look forward to!
How pretty Rebecca – our only wildflowers are our blooming dandelions and they are out in full force now. That’s a delightful sight to see to welcome Spring. P.S. – Your quote is right on the mark too.
Thanks, Linda. I had never seen so many wildflowers spread out in one place before. Spring has definitely sprung here. 🙂
I wonder if the weather has contributed to this Rebecca, like all the wildflowers in California that were evident in March after that state has have been deluged with rain/floods? The news said they had not had such beautiful flowers, even poppies, for decades due to the long drought.
I guess that’s a good possibility. We’ve certainly had our share of rain this spring.
and who doesn’t love the humble flower! Nice assortment Rebecca!
Thanks, Wayne. Along with those flowers came various birds and butterflies. You never know what you’re going to see next out in nature. 🙂
A colourful carpet of beauty and adventure!
Gorgeous!
