Deer among the sunflowers

Because of the hot and humid weather, one of our favorite walking times is around dusk, when the temperature is cooling down.  One of the benefits of walking at this time is that it is an active time for deer, which prefer to feed during low-light hours.  Occasionally, we spot one that has come out of the woods to forage on corn, soybeans, and in this case, sunflowers.

  1. Oh the beauty of those eyes, so innocently surrounded by darkness. What a joy to come upon them and be able to get such great photos.

    • I understand. My parents have had trouble this year with a rabbit and a squirrel that have wiped out the vegetables in their little garden. I guess since this isn’t my sunflower field, I don’t have a bone to pick with the deer. 🙂

      • They come up in my backyard often.. but they started getting really bold! They’d get so close to the house that the tv would spook them! I have a post about it if you’re interested.
