We first knew that the pelicans had returned to our area in September when we saw a large flock of them flying high over the Mississippi River.
In early November, we were able to see them more closely and enjoy their beauty at Reelfoot Lake.

I really enjoyed all of these White Pelicans: expanded most! Thank you Rebecca!
Glad you enjoyed them. 🙂
They are beautiful and what a treat you got to see them all land while you were there. They were impressive in the sky too! I follow a woman photographer and she lives in Iowa and often photographs the white pelicans there. I never knew of white pelicans before reading her posts and thought the only type of pelicans were brown ones.
They stop here on their fall migration. They are such are beautiful and interesting birds to watch.
I am amazed how they feed and also how graceful they are in flight. Sandra does some videos of those pelicans sometimes. They are now gone until next year.
Beautiful captures, Rebecca! These birds are huge and gorgeous!
Yes, they are, and quite enchanting to watch!
