l was excited when this Monarch floated gently by and landed on the leaf of a nearby tree. This was the first one that I had seen this year, though I have since spotted others.

How wonderful to see a Monarch floating by! This is a lovely male — noted by the black dots in the middle of its hindwings. I hope you see many more Monarchs this season!
That’s an interesting fact that I didn’t know. Thanks for sharing. I hope so too. 🙂
Great captures, Rebecca. May they go forth and multiply!
Thanks Eliza. I second that.
That’s a beautiful Monarch you captured Rebecca, with not a single tatter on its wings. I wonder if it just emerged from its chrysalis – a maiden flight.
Thanks, Linda. I hadn’t thought about that, but think you could be right. It is in very good shape compared to older ones.
It was so perfect!
I’ve been seeing a lot more of these beautiful creatures lately. It could be because I’ve planted lots of colorful perennials. Not sure. It’s a welcome sight though. Your photography is wonderul.
Thanks so much, Kathy. I’m glad to hear that the Monarchs are doing well there.
Such a joy to see these fellows. These are beautiful captures, Rebecca!
Thanks, Ellen!
